Steel Cut Oats
Harraways Steel Cut Oats are cut oat groats that are nutrient-rich and full of wholegrain goodness. The hulled wholegrain oat groats have been cut as opposed to rolled, which creates a dense, chewy texture when cooked. Great for making a wholesome porridge, or for use as a versatile, wholesome ingredient for baking and cooking.
Traditional Whole Grain
These milled oat groats are steamed to soften the grain, then rolled to flatten the groats. Also kilned within the process - to help deliver a distinctive nutty flavour in the oats - you can be sure of a distinctive wholesome, hearty porridge or an ideal, tasty base for homemade muesli.

Harraways value added mixes - stand up bags & Oat Sachet ranges - are oat combinations milled into a finer texture to create a quick cooking experience. These combinations blend premium quality NZ grown oats with a range of tasty flavours. Homegrown Harraways Oats fans, within New Zealand consume approximately 2.2 million of their oats bags every year!
So, it makes sense that oats packaging is the first consideration for the company, regarding the sustainability ‘must do’ list.
After a whole lot of research, Harraways decided that recyclable soft plastic is the best option for its oat bags, at least in the short to medium term.
As a result, the range of bags that contain Harraways oats are thin and lightweight, which means Harraways can both minimize packaging, but offer optimum freshness.
