Harraways Meatballs

  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium onion chopped finely
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 2 Tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1½ cups Harraways Rolled Oats
  • Seasoning to taste
  • 2 teaspoons of your favourite herbs (parsley, cajun spice or mixed herbs)

Method:
Combine egg, tomato sauce, seasoning, herbs and curry powder in a large bowl.

Mix in chopped onion and garlic. Combine liquid mixt with mince and rolled oats and mix well. Shape into meat balls and place on a well oiled pan.

Bake in oven at 180°C for 30mins, check after 15mins and turn meatballs over. Once meatballs are cooked add your favourite pasta sauce and cook for a further 10mins.

Suggestion: serve with spaghetti or freshly toasted bread. This recipe will serve 4-5 and the meatballs can be made in advance and frozen.

Harraways Pasta Sauce

  • 1 can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp vinegar (optional)
  • 1 tsp sugar (optional)
  • 1 medium size onion chopped finely
  • Season to taste
  • 2 tsp of mixed herbs or Italian pesto

Combine all ingredients in a bowl, then pour sauce over cooked meatballs and return to the oven to heat through.
